We believe in one God, who is all powerful, all knowing, ever present, unchanging, completely worthy of trust, Holy, the Creator of all things, and who is loving and just. It is in Him that we live, move, and exist. God is great! He is our Father. He is loving, compassionate, and faithful to His people and His promises (Exodus 3:14, Numbers 23:19, Psalm 11:4-6, Malachi 3:6, John 3:16, 4:24, 5:26, 14:1, Acts 17:28, and Romans 3:3-4).
We believe in Jesus Christ, who is the Son of God and our Savior. We believe that Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again on the third day to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven and will return again to earth to reign as King (Isaiah 9:6, Matthew 1:22-23, John 1:1-5, Romans 1:3-4).
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who is the presence of God with us and within us. We believe that the Holy Spirit empowers us to live like Jesus participating in his life, death, and resurrection. God’s Spirit enables us to be witnesses of Jesus in the world, to understand truth, and guide us. We as Christians seek to live under His control daily (John 14:16-17, Acts 1:8, Galatians 5:25).
We believe in the Bible, which is the inspired Word of God and the authoritative source of our faith and practice. Because it was inspired by God, it is truth without error. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. We believe that the Bible teaches us about God’s love for humanity and how we are to live as followers of Christ (Isaiah 55:11, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21).
Everyone is made in the image of God to reflect who He is. Although every person has potential for good, the image of God was distorted in us because of sin. Sin is simply “missing the mark” of reflecting the image of God. However, God did not give up on us but made it possible to once again reflect Him through His plan of salvation.
We believe in salvation, which is the gift of God’s grace that we receive through faith in Jesus Christ. We believe that salvation is available to all who repent of their sins and put their trust in Jesus. As a result, a believer lives more and more like Jesus as they are sanctified (John 3:16, Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9).
Sanctification is the ongoing process of yielding to God’s word and His Spirit in order to complete the development of God’s image and Jesus’ character in us. It is through the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and the word of God that the Christian is enabled to live a godly life (1 Thessalonians 4:3, 5:23, 2 Corinthians 3:18, 6:14-18, 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3, Romans 8:29, 12:1-2, Hebrews 2:11).
We believe that God desires to work through a community of believers. He worked through the nation of Israel in the Old Covenant, and He now works though the Church of the New Covenant led by Jesus. The Church is a community of believers who gather together to learn, to worship God, to grow in their faith, and to serve. We believe that the Church is called to be the hands and feet of Christ in the world, and to “make disciples baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 1:8, 2:42-47).
We believe in the second coming of Jesus, when he will return to judge the living and the dead and to establish his kingdom of justice and peace. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through a new life in Christ. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally connected with Him is eternal life in heaven. Heaven and hell are real places of eternal existence.
We believe in the power of prayer, which is our way of communicating with God and seeking his guidance and wisdom.
These are some of the key beliefs that guide our faith and our life as a Christian community. We recognize that we all come from different backgrounds and have different experiences, but we believe that our shared faith in Jesus Christ unites us and inspires us to live out our faith in the world.
At Faith Racers, we are committed to teaching God’s word in community. As we find in Acts 2:43-47, the early church grew through biblical teaching and community. We do this by focusing on the local motocross community and by our digital outreach to the regional motocross community. As biblical teaching and community merge, our mission to make disciples is realized.
